What is a continuing care retirement community?

A continuing care retirement community (CCRC) is a residential community designed for active, independent adults age 60 and up. A CCRC offers a variety of floorplans including apartments and cottages. More importantly, a CCRC offers peace of mind knowing that as needs change, progressive levels of on-site healthcare are available, from an outpatient clinic to assisted living and skilled nursing care. A CCRC offers a “no-worries” lifestyle with services such as home maintenance, housekeeping, meals, lawn care, and more.

How do Continuing Care Retirement Communities differ?

Continuing care retirement communities typically offer three distinct contract types – Type A (extensive agreement), Type B (modified agreement) and Type C (fee-for-service). The difference between these contract types is the amount of assisted living and nursing care included in the contract. William Hill Manor offers a Type B, modified service contract. This type of contract includes independent housing and residential services and also includes a limited number of pre-paid skilled nursing or assisted living care days (60) during the contract term.
