A Culture of Giving
Residents and family members of William Hill Manor find many ways to express their satisfaction of living in the community. Charitable gifts that enhance programs and services in the community are yet another way to make a difference. That difference is seen by the establishment of an employee scholarship fund to help employees improve their skills and advance in their career through education. Thanks to everyone’s vision, our culture of giving continues to grow and flourish.
Why does William Hill Manor need gifts and bequests?
William Hill Manor has three sources of income: resident fees, investment earnings and gifts. Each in its own way is important to the quality of life of its residents.
What types of programs and projects are supported by resident gifts and families?
- Community Enrichment Fund
- Established to encourage new ideas for enhancing the community’s amenities and services that may not be part of the annual capital budget. Gifts have included a dance floor for the auditorium, an indoor/ outdoor putting green and a new flagpole area.
- Resident Assistance Fund
- Charitable gifts into this newly established fund will support residents who may outlive their financial resources.
- Employee Scholarship Fund
- Established in 2005 to support employees at William Hill Manor who seek to improve their skills and advance in their career through education.
- Requard Nurse Educator Fund
- This fund was established in 2008 by a William Hill Manor resident. The fund supports a full time nurse educator whose role is to work with William Hill Manor residents, caregivers, and families who are dealing with Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, Eastern Shore families in the greater community have been educated in best practices of Alzheimer’s and dementia care.
